The room had fixtures not working correctly eg. Kettle did not turn off when boiled, mould/mildew over half of ceiling. Items appeared to have been purchased from a motel getting rid of its old equipment eg fridge, microwave. Kitchen only had a microwave and did not include any bowls to cook a meal. Very inadequate the accommodation and amenties provided would have suited a 2 star motel. Laundry facilities worked like the rest of the establlishment, poorly.
The reception area is the only place that the internet works. There was no DVD player in the room. The view from the balcony of the Strand and ocean is spectacular.
Townsville is very easy to drive around. Average shopping, not really geared up for the tourist market.
