A nice property that has units, cabins, roomettes, hostel and caravan sites.
I stayed in a roomette for 2 nights and it is basic accomodation for a backpacker with a little extra money. Note that roomettes don't have private toilets and showers. But they do have power, aircons and tv's :) So if you're a backpacker looking for premium quality and a little more privacy then these are the go.
I also stayed in a unit for one night and this was very nice. It was very roomy and had all the basics you'd expect from a unit. It is fully self contained with fridge, cooking gear, stove microwave etc. Obviously it has its own toilet and shower. It also has a TV and air con. Very reasonably priced.
If you're planning a longer term stay e.g. 1 - 3 weeks, ask them for a better rate as they do advertise long-term backpacker deals.
Check out the nature drive and the water holes around Cardwell.
Also catch the daily boat trip to the surrounding island. Next time I'll be going on a plane charter around the local area for about 50 bux.
Not a great place to visit for an action junkie, but a nice place for someone who wants to relax.
